Do I need to be a member to participate?

Our guests and visitors are welcome to join us in the celebration of the Lord's Supper. We as Lutherans believe that Jesus is truly present in the sacrement. Children are welcome to come forward for a special blessing during Communion.

Should you deicide to join Salem, please contact the church office or mark the appropriate box on the friendship form located in the pew hymn racks. Periodically, the Pastor hosts a new members class. This class is recommended for all new members -- whether you are transferring from another Lutheran church, are transferring from another denomination, or have never attended church on a regular basis. This class serves as a refresher in Lutheranism. The Pastor also details the many ministries you could be involved in at Salem.

How can I request a visit from the Pastor or other staff member?

To request a visit, you can choose from the following:
  • Mark the friendship form that is available in the pew racks.
  • Call the church at (815)895-9171.
  • E-mail any staff member. Visit our Staff page and click on the name below the picture of the staff person you wish to contact.

If you are hospitalized, having surgery, or experiencing a major life event, we ask that you contact the church office, so we can visit with you and/or keep you in our prayers. Please let us know if we can include you in our prayer chains. It is not necessary to provide your name to have others keep you in prayer.
